Tsunami waves of several centimeters to around 20 cm were observed along Japan's Pacific coast after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck off southern Philippines on Monday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. All tsunami advisories were lifted by 4:50 p.m. local time, and over 195,000 people in 10 prefectures were urged to evacuate at one point.
