Russia's Shoigu proposes BRICS crisis-response mechanism in meeting with China's Wang Yi in New Delhi, citing worsening global security

Russian Security CouncilSergei Shoigu called for creating a BRICS mechanism to respond to threats and emergencies during a meeting with Chinese Wang Yi in New Delhi. The consultations took place on the sidelines of a meeting of BRICS high representatives responsible for security issues. Shoigu said that given the worsening international situation, it is important to create working mechanisms on the BRICS platform for collective operational response to emerging threats and crises, as well as for forming joint resource reserves to overcome consequences of emergency situations.
