An international research team has found that a green Mediterranean diet may improve gene activity related to heart health, diabetes prevention, and healthy aging, Israel's Ben-Gurion University of the Negev said in a statement. The study, published in Clinical Nutrition, showed that followers of the plant-rich diet had higher folate levels, better blood sugar control, lower inflammation, and reduced liver fat.
