Russia's FSB Border Service reported that foreign citizens made 7.1 million trips to Russia in the first half of 2026, down from 7.8 million in the same period of 2025, according to data published in the Unified Interagency Information and Statistical System (EMISS). Work was the most common stated purpose (2.4 million entries, led by Uzbekistan at 1.1 million), followed by private visits (2.3 million, led by Kazakhstan at 850,000) and tourism (676,400, led by China at 380,500).
